Hyundai Hope on Wheels 2011

I had the privilege to shoot for a unique cause all over the United States this past week. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is a grant foundation that made 71 individual donations of $100,000 to various children’s cancer research centers during the month of September. I was fortunate to capture the ceremonies in Seattle, WA. Houston, TX., and St. Louis, MO. Below is one of the completed video captured during the trip. Enjoy!

 

Adventure Family Motorsports - Waverunner Adventure Tours

Over the last few weeks, we've been producing a video campaign for Adventure Family Motorsports, a family oriented outdoor adventure service. With AFM, you can rent Waverunners, Harley Davidsons, and Dirt Bikes for parties and/or scenic tours. Here is one of the first videos to hit the net. We had the opportunity to use some of our water-proof cameras, so fun!

I figured now would be a nice time to share this little tid-bit of tech info. Right about the middle of summer, I received an ad from Big Lots with an HD camcorder from Kodak for $40... I was like whhhaaaattt? I sped to my local Big Lots and snagged up one of these little bad boys. To tell you the truth, I should have bought at least one more. I have several other Kodak mini HD cameras, so figured this would be a nice edition to my collect. Sure enough it's a gem... but with a few flaws. Let me get those out of the way. No removeable battery (boo), microSD (cool and not cool), water tight door gets in the way when plugging it up to a computer. The USB connector ejects from the bottom, like the Flip cams do (or now DID should I say ooohhhhh, poor Cisco Systems). One last bad note, the out of water video is just ok (after it's been in water). If you use before, it's aight, lol. Now the good :) UNDERWATER CAMERA!!! Did you read that right? UNDERWATER CAMERA. I love it! Quick advice, for the best shots, wear goggles, it's the only way to composite a shot on the tiny LCD on the bad. Once that hurdle is crossed, it's on like Donkey Kong. The video is clear, crisp and clean. The camera is fairly durable, and it's waterproof :) The camera is capable of 720p video at 30 fps, and 5 mp stills. The still are great too (if composited correctly). I know the summer is over for most of the US, outside of Florida, California, or Hawaii lol, but this may be a perfect time to pick one up for next Spring Break and the 2012 summer. If you can't find them at your local Big Lots, eBay has a few for a couple bucks more. Now for some samples, I know, I know, it's time for me to shut up. Here is a quick sample of the first time I used the Kodak Zm2 Underwater HD camcorder/camera. Enjoy!

Better Busy Than Bored...

Saying that we have a busy week, would be a complete understatement. Continuing with our collaboration with Reality Edit, we’ve finalized most, if not all the promotional spots for the upcoming Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight on September 17^th. In addition to a plate full of editing, our photography cameras will be snapping away at the BOSS Magazine “Click” event this Friday (August 12, 2011 @ 8pm, Sunday’s Fine Dining in Ybor City) and we’ve secured our spot as a featured sponsor. After a brief slumber, we will continue the weekend’s festivities at Whiskey Joe’s on the Causeway for the HOT4EVA “Red Carpet Fashion Show”, which includes coverage for Tampa Style Magazine by Us! Then maybe a break on Sunday lol… Better busy than bored J

For those who have asked us, "Where are the pics?" lately, we have been busy with tasks for the upcoming Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight (September 17th on HBO PPV)! We have been working with Reality Edit on multiple projects lately, including tons of promos for the much anticipated Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight. Below you will find the Behind the Scenes of the Press Tour created by Reality Edit for HBO Sports. Check it out and be amazed by the story behind this fight. Beyond this battle, Lucky Star has been snapping pics with 813This.com at various events, and will be co-sponsoring and attending BOSS Magazine's Click: Photographer Competition on August 12th, 2011. So, fear not Photo-Fans... We didn't go anywhere :)

 

 

Quick LS Update

We've actually been so swamped with our hands in so many ventures, that we've been unable to update our site. So, in the meantime I figured I'd share a picture from a recent shoot we did while covering DJ Short-e's event at Whisky Joe's on the Causeway. The two lovely ladies were chilling by the fireplace, I saw the shot and just had to take it. A quick off camera flash setup and this is the result. I like the pic and think you all will too. Zoom upgrades the H2 with H2n » CheesyCam

We think this is a really cool field recorder. Check it out and let us know what you think! - LS Staff

Zoom is upgrading the H2 with a new H2n. The black finish and retro condenser microphone styling is a big plus for my taste, but it’s neither pocketable nor does it have all the features of the H4n.
