I’m going to rant and rave a little about Transformers 2.
Yeah yeah, I know it’s a bit late, but I haven’t had the opportunity to check
it out till now. I will first say that it was cool. I’ll just say cool. Not
much more. Hate me or love me… don’t really care, everyone is entitled to their
own opinion. Bla bla bla… Well, here are my reasons why. I completely dig
Hollywood style movies, cause I envision all those things on a daily basis. My
mind is always on a Hollywood-sized level. I like Michael Bay movies; so again, by
default I’ll dig it. My complaints however, are as follows: I LOVE moving shots…
I mean really do. I think a well choreographed crane move can be a beautiful
thing… All this being said…. There sometimes can be too much of a good thing….
Transformers 2, is full of motion shots. At times during this movie, I thought
I needed to take some Dramamine. The over use of circular movements made me dizzy,
even 50 rows from the screen. Michael Bay’s classic Bad Boy Styled spins we
used to say “I love you”, dramatic effect and even during an uncomfortable
stare. Way too much. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ll notice it all over the
place. If you have seen it, once you get it home on DVD you’ll enjoy the
vomiting sensations.
Issue number two… It appears the producers wanted a higher,
more mature rating. I don’t care if someone curses in a movie, I really don’t.
What I do have a problem with is when it’s unnatural or unwarranted. Everyone, including the Transformers was just
cursin’ up a storm. So much so, that it
caught my attention.
Issue number 3. I will keep this short, cause it’s probably
more personal than anything else. Megan Fox. She’s hot, everyone knows that.
Hell, she’s been voted the sexiest woman on the planet several times… So, why
would someone with such natural beauty do ANYTHING to alter their appearance? Ms.
Fox, clearly increased the size of her upper lip. Why, just why? I hate lip
injections. HATE. And for someone who clearly doesn’t need it to get it, blows
my mind… Bothered me the whole movie.
In closing, the movie was cool like I said. Tons of action
and tons of CG amazement. Seeing mine and other’s favorite Saturday morning,
childhood cartoon come to life on the big screen is wonderful. The story was
pretty cool, but the first was just better. Although, in my opinion part 1 was
a clone of 1996’s Independence Day. It was still better overall.
Keep this in mind, as many people learned around me lately.
Making a video or film production is A LOT of work. It can take hours to days
to set up for the perfect shot. It’s rough. So I definitely try to give all
movies a chance, just for the respect to the filmmakers. Big budget and low
budget films are all hard to complete. Seeing a visual masterpiece like
Transformers 2, still tickles my movie-making fancy. In addition, it
revitalizes my drive to see my name in the lights and movies on the big
screen. So hate a movie or love it… a
group of hopefully friends, got together to share a story with an audience.
Audience meaning You!
